About The Event

Marcia Zug, a law professor at the University of South Carolina, will examine the  uniquely American institution of marriage, from the Colonial era through the MeToo age. Laws have been designed to encourage people to marry so that the population would increase, women would have financial security and immigrants would have familial connections.
